POLICE in South Oxfordshire were on the hunt for more suspected hare coursers today following arrests at the weekend.

Thames Valley Police tweeted at 3pm that 'numerous units' were searching for six men suspected to have been hare coursing near the village of Aston Tirrold, near Didcot.

Police in a further tweet stated: "We dispatched three vehicles immediately to the area but I'm afraid we didn't catch up with the individuals and don't have any further details including any linked vehicles."

Two people were arrested and two children safeguarded on Saturday after suspected hare coursing near White Horse Hill in Uffington.

Thames Valley Police also seized six dogs during the incident, near Faringdon.

Hare coursing involves greyhounds hunting hares by sight, rather than scent, and is illegal in the UK.
