A SON found his drug-taking mum dead on her living room floor, an inquest was told yesterday.

Pamela ‘Pammy’ Jane Hall had cocaine and morphine in her system when she died on the morning of July 6 2018, Oxford Coroner’s Court heard. Her death was recorded as ‘drug related’.

The unemployed 50-year-old, who lived in Springfield Road, Wantage, had struggled with drug problems for much of her life, family members said.

Her son Jamie Hall, who was also her full time carer, performed CPR on her before ambulance crews arrived.

Oxford Mail:

She had taken drugs the night before, but her boyfriend Desmond Dawson said she was ‘awake and talking’ when he left the house at around 4am.

Detective Constable Lara Necrews, who attended the scene, told the court that a crack pipe and various pieces of drug paraphernalia were found.

Coroner Darren Salter said: “The verdict should simply be ‘drug related death’ - that is the appropriate conclusion for a case of this type."

Adding that he was unable to give a precise time of death, he said: “She was very cold when she was found by paramedics, which would indicate that she had been dead for at least an hour (after) she was discovered at 3pm.

“I am satisfied that Pammy was a known drug user and died at her home address due to ‘multi drug toxicity’.”
