TRAFFIC was at a standstill on the M40 in South Oxfordshire after a crash involving 'multiple' cars.
Drivers were being held on the southbound carriageway this morning following the collision, which happened at Lewknor at about 9.30am.
Delays were severe until about 11am, with tailbacks stretching back to Tetsworth, but all lanes have since reopened and congestion has cleared.

Traffic was held while police coned off the outside lane, where the collision is thought to have happened.

South Central Ambulance Service said it was not called out to deal with the collision.
