FOUR bespoke bird boxes have been installed at a building in Oxford to attract swifts when they migrate back to the city this summer.
Designed by Oxford developer Robin Swailes, they are inspired by the Oxford Swift City project, a two-year scheme aimed at raising awareness of the birds whose breeding population is falling.
Mr Swailes, director of Robin Swailes Design & Development based in Jericho, said: “We commissioned a special report from the Wildlife Trust to examine how we could incorporate more biodiversity into our projects as we are a prolific city centre developer.
“One answer was to incorporate bird boxes. Hopefully we will be welcoming some very special guests soon.”
