HEAVY snow is expected to blanket Oxfordshire tomorrow night.
The county has been issued with a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice, in place between 9pm tomorrow and midday on Wednesday.
TUESDAY UPDATE HERE - snow could be less heavy than thought, says Met Office
The Met Office says there is likely to be up to 3cm of snow in the warning area and as much as 10cm at higher ground.

Forecasters predict Oxford city will see sleet showers from about 8pm, which will turn to snow as temperatures plummet.

The Met Office said it is difficult to predict whether or not the snow will settle but, with Oxfordshire's snowfall expected to continue into the early hours of the morning, the county could be waking up to the white stuff on Wednesday.

Last week Oxfordshire saw the first heavy snowfall of the year, although most of it did not settle.

The weather warning for tomorrow and Wednesday states: "There is a small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
"There is a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off.
"There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected."
It was updated this morning to warn of ice as well as snow, adding: "There is a chance of injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces [and] that untreated pavements and cycle paths become impassable because of black ice."
The warning covers much of the south of England, East Midlands and West Midlands.
Many schools in Oxfordshire have been reminding parents to check their websites and Oxfordshire County Council's school closures page online, in case of snow days in the coming weeks.
