CLIMBING eight places to number six, South Oxfordshire has been named the best place to live in Oxfordshire and one of the top ten in the UK.

But where did the rest of Oxfordshire rank? See the original article here

West Oxfordshire trails its southern counterpart by 22 places to make it only to number 28.

Meanwhile Vale of White Horse narrowly mised out on the top ten in 11th place.

Notably, Cherwell and Oxford city appear nowhere on the list compiled by Halifax, which uses criteria ranking performance across 24 indicators covering the jobs market, housing market, the environment, education, health, wellbeing and leisure.

It's likely that despite having an excellent rate of employment, the huge cost of housing in the city cost it a place on the list.

Oxford is regularly cited as the most expensive place to live outside of London and was featured on the list of most expensive streets in the country. See the street here
