A MAN accused of modern slavery offences has been given a trial date at Oxford Crown Court.

Michael Joyce, 60, of Redbridge Hollow, Oxford, denies two counts of requiring a person to perform compulsory labour and two counts of arranging or facilitating travel of a person with a view to exploitation.

Prosecutors allege that Joyce forced two men into working for free at a Traveller site at Redbridge Hollow over an 18-month period.

Joyce appeared at Oxford Crown Court yesterday where a date for trial was set.

It will take place at the same court on July 15 and the case is likely to last up to two weeks.
