STAFF at Helen & Douglas House hospice are looking for volunteers to make meals and cakes for families.
The children’s hospice in Magdalen Road, East Oxford, is asking people to spare time to support the catering team.
The hospice wants volunteers to spend a minimum of three hours a week helping out.
Its job advert said: “The kitchen and dining rooms are the heart of Helen & Douglas House, our patients and families gather around to enjoy heart-warming, home-cooked meals and love the smell of the freshly baked cakes and sweet treats.
“Volunteering with our catering team is incredibly rewarding; you will be part of a friendly team in an open plan dining area where children, families, and staff often spend their social time.”
Duties include ensuring the tables are set and cleaned for meal times, helping to prepare and display lunch and dinner for staff and families, handling money and baking cakes.
No previous experience is necessary although a talent for cooking would be useful and food hygiene training will be given. For more visit helenanddouglas.org.uk
