OXFORDSHIRE County Council has finally fixed a handrail outside the home of a blind grandfather.
The council had promised to mend the 'ricketty' rail, outside where 87-year-old Colin Bryn Jones lives in Letcombe Regis, as 'a matter of urgency' in November.

It finally got round to repairing the fixture permanently late last week, after 'temporary' repairs were criticised by grandson Ben Jones, who now says he is very relieved.
Mr Jones, 34, explained: "It has been a hard fought battle and wouldn't have been possible without your hard work at the Oxford Mail.
"Thanks so much for helping me and my grandad, it is a massive relief."
