TEACHERS have voted to back a planned strike as a row over pay continues.

Members of the University and College Union (UCU) at Abingdon and Witney College will go ahead with the action on Tuesday January 29 and Wednesday January 30.

In a poll of members, 71 per cent of staff who voted said they backed the strikes.

The union said the dispute centres on the 'failure' of college bosses to make a 'decent' pay offer to staff who have seen the value of their pay decline by 25 per cent over the last decade.

It warned further strikes could follow.
