VOLUNTEERS will try to fix broken items at a community event in Oxford.
Rose Hill and Iffley Low Carbon are holding the Repair Cafe at Rose Hill Community Centre on Saturday, in partnership with the venue and Community Action Groups Oxfordshire.
Residents have been invited to bring along electrical items, clothes and bikes that need fixing, to save them from landfill.
The cafe runs from 10am-12.30pm and organisers said it is a 'great opportunity for local people to save money, stop things from going to landfill and to socialise with their neighbours'.
There will also be teas, coffees, homemade cake and activities for children.
The group is planning subsequent Repair Cafes throughout the year, the next of which are scheduled for April 6 and June 1.
