OXFORDSHIRE DJ Gary Smith will once again mix with A-list celebrities at this year's Oscars.

Mr Smith, also known as DJG, is set to return to Hollywood for the third consecutive year when he plays at the Oscars Gifting lounge in Los Angeles next month.

The Bicester resident was selected to play the Gifting lounge at the 91st Academy Awards by Durkin Entertainment and will spin for the stars at the world-famous Beverley Hilton Hotel.

It follows appearances at the Golden Globes in 2017 and last year's Oscars and comes three months after his mother and soup kitchen queen Icolyn 'Ma Smith' won a Pride of Britain award.

Mr Smith helps his mother cook for the homeless at the Oxford Community Soup Kitchen off Cowley Road, which she set up in 1989.

He is currently teaching children with autism and special needs to DJ and runs 'Soulful House Hugs', a yearly event where he plays soulful house music in Oxford city centre, featuring dancing and free hugs.

Mr Smith is helped by Darius, his son, who dances throughout the event and wife, Yvonne, who does the videography.

The pair joined him in Los Angeles for last year's Oscars and the Golden Globes in 2017.
