A SURVEY on whether council tax should be raised to pay for more policing closes this afternoon.
Police and Crime Commissioner for the Thames Valley Anthony Stansfeld is asking the public whether they back an increase in the police element of the tax, worth £24 a year for a band D property.
The extra cash generated from the proposed increase will be spent on operational policing, likely to include an increase in local frontline policing.

Mr Stansfeld also previously said that he may decide to halt the controversial closure of the Northway and Marston Police Office if the public voted to pay more tax.
The closure was announced by the force last year, but residents in the area protested, saying it would reduce police presence and could embolden criminals.
The survey, which closes at 5pm, can be found at https://bit.ly/2PODW9s.
