A CHARITY is calling on people to sign up for a run to raise funds to support bomb disposal experts and their families.
The Felix Fund provides therapeutic breaks, rehabilitation facilities and hardship grants to those who work under immense pressure to find and dismantle explosive devices.
The event, called The Soldiers Pass Run, is taking place on Saturday, October 12 in Didcot.
Participants have the choice of 5K, 10K, 21K and 42K routes which all start and finish in Didcot - with the added option of a 100k route that takes runners as far as Reading.
As well as the run itself, families and non-runners are invited to take part in a fun day at Vauxhall Barracks for a chance to enjoy refreshments and meet serving military personnel.
Captain James Wadsworth CGC, founder of The Soldiers Pass Run, said: "I'm extremely proud of all the hard work and effort that has gone into making this challenge possible, and look forward to raising money for a fantastic cause.
"The men and women we're supporting with The Soldiers Pass Run have given so much to keep us safe, and to make the world safer for people all over the globe, so events like this are the least we can do to help them get back to full health."
Places start from £25.
