A LANE was closed on the A40 in Oxford after a manhole was exposed in the road.
Drivers had to dodge the hole after part of the cover caved in this morning near the Headington (Green Road) roundabout.
One lane was closed while emergency roadworks take place, causing delays on the approach, but the road has since reopened.
The Oxford Mail's live traffic feed described the incident as a 'manhole collapse'.
An Oxfordshire County Council spokesman confirmed a manhole cover had broken in half, adding that half of the metal grate had 'fallen in on itself'.
Traffic around Headington Roundabout at 1.30pm today
