Fire damage to living room
A CANDLE was the cause of a house fire in Witney on Thursday.
Fire crews were faced with a blaze that had started in the living room and quickly spread throughout the building at about 5.30pm.
The fire was extinguished with high pressure hoses and two residents suffered from smoke inhalation.
Investigations found that a candle had been left by the living room window and subsequently set light to the curtains.
People are urged to use candles safely.
