OXFORD’S Playhouse Theatre is preparing to continue its hugely successful pantomime run after Christmas and into the new year.
Dick Whittington and His Cat, which has seen a string of sold-out shows throughout December, will resume after Christmas following today’s performances.
The six-week run continues on Boxing Day with performances at 2pm and 6pm.
The pantomime comes off the back of the Playhouse’s successful Jack and The Beanstalk production last year. Both were written by respected writer and theatre director Steve Marmion.
Rave reviews have described the style as ‘pantomime for the 21st century’, with the Oxford Mail’s reviewer Katherine MacAlister saying the show is the ‘best Playhouse pantomime in living memory’ in her five-star review and The Guardian calling it ‘the rat’s whiskers’.
Tickets cost £10 to £32 and selected shows are available audio described and BSL signed. Visit oxfordplayhouse.com
