THE SEASONAL sounds of Worcester College Choir rang through the city centre as they took over Bonn Square.

The choir sang their hearts out to shoppers to help raise money Friends of Oxford Children Critical Care.

They were joined by children from Botley School and Mathew Arnold School to help with collections, and with a few of the classics too.

The charity supports the Paediatric Critical Care (PCC) unit at the John Radcliffe which admits over 800 poorly children a year with life-threatening medical and surgical illnesses.

Laura Jones, of the Friends of Oxford Children Critical Care, said: “In the most beautiful Christmas spirit, they sang Christmas Carols to people passing by, while kids from Botley School and Mathew Arnold’s school collected money.

“The night was bitterly cold, so the choir has a little break with hot chocolate to warm up.

“The Fudge Bus company staff was so moved by their fundraising that they came with a tray of fudge to share with the kids."

PCC consultant Avishay Sarfatti said: “’We are so grateful to Worcester Choir Children for coming out on a cold evening to sing for the kids at the Unit.

“Everyone at the PCC Unit -whether they were able to be at the event or working that night - feel so uplifted by the support of everyone in the community.”
