REINDEERS took an afternoon off from pulling Santa's sleigh to fly into a care home for a special nativity performance.

The seasonal creatures joined Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus at Rosebank care home in Bampton for the performance, narrated by a resident and featuring staff dressed as angels and shepherds.

Residents joined in on a selection of their favourite Christmas carols during the show, before making their way out to the garden to visit the reindeers.

Members of the community also met the animals and took pictures.

Mandie Acock, lifestyle support co-ordinator at Rosebank, said: “Both staff and residents put a lot of effort into the performance and the scenery and it’s been a wonderful way to welcome in the Christmas season.”

Rosebank care home owner, Jane Roberts, added: “The nativity was a huge success and we’re extremely thankful for all the support we’ve received from the Bampton community this year."
