**Times updated by RAF Brize Norton on Tuesday, 10.50am.

DRIVERS have been warned to expect severe delays as several roads in the city are closed today ahead of the repatriation of a Royal Navy Lieutenant.

The plane carrying the body of Lieutenant Steven Clark from the UK MCC Bahrain Royal Navy will land at about 2.30pm in Brize Norton.

Norton Way in Brize Norton will be closed from approximately 3.30pm.

Station Road and Brize Norton will also be closed, but only for around 10 minutes once the cortege leaves Britannia Gate at RAF Brize Norton.

Closures will also be in place at the Marston Ferry Road and Cherwell Drive junction, and on the stretch of Marston Road where it meets Cherwell Drive at the other end.

Drivers in the area should also expect the mini roundabout by the entrance to the John Radcliffe Hospital to be shut.

Oxfordshire County Council created an repatriation alert on its website.

It warned drivers to expect major delays to their journey if they are travelling around the area while the road closures are in operation.

It also notified residents and visitors wanting to pay their respects that the weather is likely to be heavy rain, with a fresh breeze.

The cortege will pass the Memorial Garden at around 4pm, and if all goes to plan the procession will reach the John Radcliffe Hospital at about 5pm.
