BRITISH Rail opened a two-point gap over the chasing pack in Division 1 after beating second-placed Forum A 6-4 in the Oxford & District League.
Darren Jones was unusually out of the spotlight for the victors, but Neil Cartwright and Ian Mead stepped up to the plate.
Elson Costa was in good form for Forum.
Simon Cox’s maximum proved in vain as Vikings A lost 6-4 at home to Forum C.
Forum F stay top of Division 2 despite being held to a 5-5 draw at home to Bicester B.
Edward Lush won all three of his matches for the hosts, while Jamie Felton and Andy Crofts starred for the visitors as five of the ten games went the full distance.
