AN EXCLUSIVE Oxfordshire club and farmhouse favoured by celebrities including Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and the Beckhams, has made a list of the world's best hotels.

Soho Farmhouse, in Great Tew, near Chipping Norton, was chosen by magazine Condé Nast Traveller for its Gold List 2019, which brings together editor all-time favourite hotels.

In its write up the Cotswolds destination, which opened in 2015, is described as 'the Ferrari of farm holidays' thanks to its 100-acre estate and members' club.

It adds: "This farmyard has fire pits and fancy sofas, the Main Barn is cavernous, with vast steel-framed windows, a statement bar, low-slung Chesterfields and an atmosphere other hoteliers wish they could bottle."

Accommodation consists of 40 cabins in different sizes, a four-bedroom cottage and a seven-bedroom farmhouse, while the estate offers an outdoor pool, lakes, horse riding, crazy golf, cycling, tennis, boating, five-a-side football and ice skating in winter.

It is one of only six UK spots to make it on the list of 78 hotels, which range from the romantic Castello di Vicarello in Tuscany, to the St Regis in New York and the Playa Grande Beach Club in the Dominican Republic.

They UK entries include Claridge’s and Covent Garden Hotel in London.
