RESIDENTS are being advised not to leave their Christmas presents on display.
Thames Valley Police is warning that burglaries increase at this time of year and say leaving presents on show under the Christmas tree is not a good idea.
The force said: “Christmas and New Year is traditionally a time when burglary increases in the Thames Valley and across the country.
“By taking a proactive approach to home security, you can reduce the risk of becoming a victim.”
Advice includes not posting photos of high value presents on social media.
