FRIDAY'S Dickensian Evening was hailed as 'Wantage at its finest' for its Christmas cheer and live music at the annual event.
The Market Place and surrounding streets boasted entertainment for the evening, with mayor Chris McCarthy joining twin town Seesen's mayor Erik Homann for the lights switch on.
Elsewhere local band Pandemonium and the St. John Vianney Choir were joined in the Vale and Downland Museum by Father Christmas.
Town Councillor Ben Mabbett said: "I love Dickensian Evening... (It is) Wantage at its finest."
