ALL LANES have reopened on the Oxford ring road after commuters faced a week of rush hour misery.
Thames Water works to fix a leaking main caused severe delays for several days, with a lane on both carriageways closed on the A423 between Hinksey Hill interchange and Kennington roundabout.
Traffic is expected to ease from this morning, although Thames Water confirmed a 50mph speed limit is in place until the concrete sets around the safety barrier.

There had been some confusion over the length of the works, with Thames Water saying on Friday that it had a work permit until today, before the county council revealed on Monday it expected delays 'for the rest of the week'.

The news will be a relief to motorists after queues backed up to Junction 9 of the M40 on the southbound carriageway and past Abingdon on the northbound carriageway on some days.
Meanwhile, traffic on the ring road stretched back to Cowley during rush hour and there was also congestion on Boars Hill.
