A TRIAL into the alleged grooming of a 'vulnerable' school girl across Oxford has entered its closing stages.

Mohammed Karrar, 44, Bassam Karrar, 39 and Anjum Dogar, 36, deny 10 counts of rape, indecent assault and conspiracy to rape.

Their trial, which began at Oxford Crown Court two weeks ago, has now entered its final stages.

Prosecutors have started delivering their closing speeches to jurors before defence teams representing the three men deliver their final arguments.

Presiding Judge Peter Ross will then sum up the evidence in the trial before jurors are sent out to deliberate and consider their final verdicts.

During the trial prosecutors have alleged that the three men groomed and sexually exploited one child victim, who is now aged in her 30s, at various sites across Oxford.

It is alleged that the woman was forced to perform sex acts for the men and was raped during a party at Plowman Tower.

It was this alleged rape, jurors were told, that led to her falling pregnant by one of her abusers.

Giving evidence at the start of the trial the alleged victim said she was aged as young as 14 when the alleged abuse began and that she was plied with drink and drugs as part of the grooming process.

Two of the men have taken to the witness box to profess their innocence during the trial, giving their version of events to the jury panel.

Dogar denied forcing the alleged victim to performing any sex acts while Mohammed Karrar told the court he was 'no angel' but neither was he a paedophile or a rapist. The trial continues.
