AN Oxfordshire mother who wrote a children's book for her two sons while undergoing cancer treatment will donate sales from her adventure story to Cancer Research UK.

Lynda Wiggins, 47, from Lower Brailes near Banbury, underwent surgery and radiation after discovering she had breast cancer in 2017.

Her treatment and recovery took six months and she spent the time writing down The Power of Three, a magical adventure bedtime story she had created for her two little boys.

The author said: "I had made up a magical world where the doors, furniture and even the rooms in a house keep moving, where a young girl discovers the magical secret about her family and, more importantly, where the girl is being hunted by the WI... the Witchfinder’s Institute.

“It was a world that kept me going through a difficult time for me and my family. I now want to give something back so more mums have the chance to read their kids bedtime stories."

Over 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK each year.

She added: “I'm asking people to consider buying this book as a gift for a friend, loved one or themselves this Christmas and, by so doing, they will be helping to save other mums diagnosed with this dreadful disease.”

The Power of Three is available from Amazon in paperback or Kindle formats.
