THERE were delays of 50 minutes on the A34 northbound this morning following two separate crashes.
Following an initial lane closure, all traffic was stopped at East Ilsley, while an accident involving a lorry and car at around 7.45am was cleared.
Police advised motorists to avoid the area, as queues stretched back for around four miles to Junction 13 (Chieveley / Newbury).
All lanes reopened at 9.30am, with traffic returned to normal by 10.30am.

There were also reports of a second crash further down the A34 at World's End at around 8am, which had also cleared by 9.30am.
Emergency services have been contacted but have not yet responded.
