A CARE giver from Wallingford has been heralded as a 'wonderful example' of an older person in the industry, after celebrating her 70th birthday.

Liz Race, who works at Home Instead Senior Care in Henley and Wallingford, says that caring is 'perfect for someone my age'.

She said: “I thoroughly enjoy being able to go into the clients' home and care for them. I love having the opportunity to hear about their lives, interests and family news. It is rewarding and life enhancing to know that in a small way I am able to make a difference by enabling my clients to live in their own homes, safely and well cared for.”

Melissa Johnson, owner of Home Instead, added: “We are so lucky to have Liz on our team. She is truly an inspiration and everyone who meets her just loves her.

"She is 100% client focused and is proof that the older generation are highly effective and vital members of the workforce. Plus many of our clients like to be cared for by someone closer to their own age.”
