BICESTER fire crews raised more than £1,000 for The Fire Fighters Charity during a mammoth 12-hour 'Pumpathon'.
In a recreation of a fundraiser first performed in 1988, the pumpathon saw firefighters work tirelessly to pump more than 7,000 litres of water from one container to another.
The event, in which crews also sold cakes and Christmas toys, took place across Saturday at the Bicester Christmas Fayre.
A total £1,115.29 was raised with the funds going to help support sick and injured fire fighters and their families.
