A PAIR of drug dealers who were found with a stash of cocaine hidden in a woman’s knickers have been jailed.
A jury found Heidi Miles, 20, of Orwell Drive, Didcot, and Tre Phillips, 23, of Parsons Place, Oxford, guilty of possession with intent to supply cocaine by unanimous verdict last week.
At their sentencing hearing at Oxford Crown Court on Wednesday, it was revealed that Miles had also previously admitted three counts relating to drug dealing in October 2017.
Meanwhile, Phillips had admitted two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two charges of possessing an offensive weapon.
During last week’s trial for drug dealing, jurors were told that they were first stopped by police in the Blackbird Leys area of Oxford in October 2017, where a set of digital scales and £1,000 cash were seized.
Later, after both were strip searched, officers discovered drugs hidden in Miles’s knickers.
At the sentencing hearing, an earlier violent episode in Oxford’s city centre was also recounted, in which Phillips attacked two men with a hockey stick during an early morning brawl in 2016.
He was charged with the offence on April 19 this year.
In mitigation, Miles’s defence team urged the court for leniency and argued she had played a ‘less senior’ role than her co-accused in the dealing.
Phillips, the court heard, was committed to making the most of his time in custody to prepare for a productive life on his release.
Sentencing them, Judge Ian Pringle QC jailed Miles for a total of two-and-a-half years for all of the drugs offences.
Phillips was jailed for a total of four years, made up of three years for the drugs matters to run consecutively with one year in prison for the violence offences.
Investigating officer, Sergeant Simon Campbell, based at Oxford police station, said: “I am pleased that Phillips and Miles have been sentenced for their offences, and that they will no longer be on the streets in the Oxford area.
“Thames Valley Police will not tolerate those who deal drugs and will look to disrupt their activities and secure prosecutions against people who carry out these offences wherever possible.”
