THIS past week it has been protests causing traffic to come to a stop on Botley Road.
But causing a lot more fuss some 18 years ago was a seemingly lost cygnet who was getting in the way.
The poor, young swan had caused chaos as he ventured away from home and the safety of, most likely, the River Thames.
Police officers scrambled to help the cygnet across the busy road.
The moment was captured in November 2000 in a scene that resembled some sort of 'why did the cygnet cross the road' gag.
Buses and vans were stopped in their tracks to let the fledgling cygnet get safely to the other side, as onlookers smiled and watched on.
A somewhat more tolerant response from drivers that the horn-beeping that met climate protestors stopping traffic last week.
