AN Oxfordshire family will be facing off against each other for a footballing fundraiser on Sunday.

Parents Chloe Jones, 25, and Ryan Fouracre, 27, from Steventon, have arranged the footballing fun day at Abingdon United's ground to raise money for their 10-month-old daughter, Gracie, currently critically ill in intensive care.

Gracie, who was born with spina bifida, is awaiting a life-saving operation at the John Radcliffe Hospital - her eighth since she was born.

The family hope to raise enough money to be able to buy medical equipment for her when she returns home, including a special mat for her cot which will sound an alarm if she was to stop breathing during the night, and special sensory toys to aid her development.

The fundraiser will see members of the family take part in a friendly football match with members of the public invited to watch and enjoy a range of activities and entertainment, including a bouncy castle, gift stalls and the on-site social club bar.

The bar and entertainment will start at 12.30pm with the match expected to kick off at around 1pm at the ground in Northcourt Road - all funds raised will go toward the equipment for Gracie.
