HUNDREDS of homes planned for Oxford Brookes University's Wheatley Campus have been rejected.
At a meeting of South Oxfordshire District Council's planning committee on Wednesday the 500-house scheme was refused.
It went against a recommendation from the authority's planning officers to approve the project, which would be on land off the A40.
Councillors cited concerns over harm to the Green Belt, impact on heritage assets and poor connectivity with Wheatley and Holton in voting against the scheme. Parish councils, Historic England, Thames Water and the county council’s highways department had all opposed the development.
