A TEENAGER accused of raping a woman told police that his alleged victim could have 'planted' semen on her clothing in a bid to get back at him, a court heard.

Luke Perkins, 18, of Park Lane, Carterton, denies one count of rape and another of assault by penetration.

Giving an overview of the case against him prosecutor Kim Preston told jurors at Oxford Crown Court yesterday that his alleged victim – a woman who cannot be named for legal reasons – had gone to his home to get cannabis on a night in July last year.

While there, she told the court, Perkins first performed a sex act on her and then turned her around and pushed her head against a fridge-freezer before raping her.

Ms Preston said that the alleged victim then left the scene before reporting the attack the following day and Perkins was later arrested.

Speaking of a police interview Perkins later gave with officers, she said: "The defendant maintained his denial and said she could have got access to his semen and planted it on her clothing to get back at him, perhaps harbouring a grudge."

Perkins was speaking after officers said they had found DNA evidence indicating a high positive match with his semen on the woman's clothing, Ms Preston said.

The court also heard that Perkins sent his alleged victim a number of Snapchat messages immediately after the incident. The first read 'keep that quiet' before a second - after the woman had saved the text, read 'un-save that'.

Jurors also saw a video recorded police interview with the alleged victim who recounted what she claimed happened to her.

Speaking of the alleged ordeal she said: "[I felt] just disgusting, scared. I didn’t think he would ever go that far."

Perkins denies both counts and the trial continues.
