FOUR teenagers charged with attempted murder in a residential Oxford street have been remanded in custody.

Ethan Broster, 18, of Windmill Road, Oxford, two 16-year-olds and a 15-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Oxford Magistrates Court this afternoon.

The four were charged by police on Sunday night in connection with two incidents in the Wood Farm area of Oxford just before midnight on Thursday.

A man in his 40s from Oxford remains in hospital after he was stabbed ‘multiple times.’

The teens have each been charged with one count of attempting to murder a man and another count of assault with intent to rob another man.

The 15-year-old also faces a further charge of possessing a bladed article.

In a hearing that lasted almost an hour, the defendants spoke only to confirm their names and addresses.

A packed public gallery watched on as District Judge Kamlesh Rana heard representations from each of their lawyers regarding bail.

She turned down the applications and the three boys have been remanded in detention with Broster remanded in custody due to being over 18.

All are now scheduled to next appear at a further hearing in Oxford Crown Court on December 21.
