Campsfield House immigration removal centre in Kidlington
CAMPAIGNERS are set to stage a 'lively' protest outside the Campsfield House immigration detention centre near Kidlington today.
Following news that the centre will close next year, members of the Campaign to Close Campsfield and End All Immigration Detention group will gather at the site to highlight their ongoing battle to see all such facilities closed down.
Earlier this month the government announced that the 216-bed facility, a long-term detention centre where detainees are kept until their case is resolved, is set to shut after 25 years.
The group will meet at the camps main gates in Langford Lane at noon.
