OXFORD’S Eastern bypass has bcleared after being brought to a standstill this afternoon when a car crashed into the central reservation.
The incident which is understood to have involved multiple cars occurred on the A4142 between the Headington Roundabout and Horspath Driftway at around 2pm.
Emergency services are on the scene, with one lane of the busy carriageway closed earlier in the direction of Cowley.
It had reopened by shortly after 3pm.
Witnesses said they saw emergency services make their way through the stationary traffic and appear to stop by the Horspath Driftway junction.
It is not yet known if anyone has been seriously injured.
The queues, which stretched back to Headington, have now cleared.
