A FIVE-year-old boy died in hospital in Oxford after being struck by a car.
Police today appealed for witnesses to the crash which happened at about 3.40pm yesterday when a mother and her son were walking in Cockpit Road, Great Kingshill, in Buckinghamshire.
A silver Ford Focus, travelling towards Heath End, collided with the child, causing serious injuries from which, despite hospital treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, he died at 7.30pm.
A 19-year-old was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving. This was later altered to causing death by dangerous driving.
He was released on bail, pending further inquiries, until November 22.
