A man was attacked with a baseball bat suffering head and knee injuries.
The 22-year-old was assaulted in a field next to the A4260 at Bodicote roundabout, Bodicote near Banbury, last Saturday. Police only made an appeal for information today.
The victim received hospital treatment for a fractured knee and a head injury.
Pc Robin Buswell, said: "This was a vicious attack which left the victim with serious injuries.
"The victim remembers a family walking nearby at the time of the attack and I am appealing for them or anyone else who witnessed the assault, to contact me."
