CHINNOR rugby prop Joe Iosefo stares straight ahead as he delivers this chilling message for England's rugby players: "La e faatafa ma e soso ese. Le Manu Samoa e o mai I!"

Manu Samoa, take on England today in a make-or-break game for both teams' World Cup chances.

And Samoan Mr Iosefo, who is in his second year playing for Chinnor in Thame, was reciting the war chant, Siva tau, which his national team performs in front of all their opponents before a match.

Translated, he said: "Make way and move aside. The Manu Samoa reign!"

And he is as bullish about his nation's chances as the intimidating war dance.

He said: "Of course I respect England as world champions, but I'd like to think Samoa can win this weekend and I'd like to see them win by around 30 points. We need to do that and then thrash the USA to stand a good chance of getting through to the quarter finals."

The 31-year-old came to Oxfordshire via Melbourne in Australia, and has also played rugby in New Zealand.

He said: "It's a different atmosphere here in the northern hemisphere and definitely different weather. I've never been so cold as when I arrived here. But it's a great club to play for though and the guys are great too."

He added: "If Samoa win this weekend, we will celebrate with lots of singing, some prayers, as we're a very religious people, and maybe a little beer, although not too much as there will be plenty more to do in this World Cup."

On the same side as Mr Iosefo at Chinnor RFC, but very much on the opposing side this Saturday, Ian Stock, 20, predicts a win for England.

He said: "We have a new fly half coming in (Flood), and if Jonny Wilkinson plays we will be unbeatable.

"England have beaten Samoa in the World Cup before and I think they will again, by 20 points. And if we don't, well Joe could be in for a few sly digs at training!"

Unfortunately, the Chinnor lads will not be able to watch the match this Saturday as they also have a match - at home to Colney Hill.
