I am one of the people who have received treatment from the cardiac team at the John Radclife Hospital in Oxford, Fast track op staff praised (Oxford Mail, September 14).

My wife called an ambulance at about 8.30am. At the JR, I was taken directly to the unit.

My problem was diagnosed and I was told that they could carry out the necessary procedure "straightaway if you are agreeable". A little more than an hour later, I was wheeled into the coronary care unit.

I will never be able to thank the whole team enough, from those who performed the procedure to the nurses on the coronary care unit for their care and understanding. These remarks also apply to the ambulance personnel, from the rapid response unit to the paramedics who took me to the JR.

While there may be faults with the NHS, it is certainly not with the staff at the sharp end.

My sincere thanks to them all.
