BMW unveiled the Concept X6 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, in Germany, to showcase the firm's latest developments in hybrid engine technology.
The four-door coupe can be driven on electric power only, on the combustion engine alone, or with a combination of both power units.
The end result is a reduction in fuel consumption by up to 20 per cent compared with a comparable BMW running on a combustion engine alone.
BMW also revealed updates on the 1 Series and 6 Series coupé at Frankfurt.
