OXFORD'S South Park will be transformed into a colourful, cultural 'campsite' today, for In-Tent-City.
The family event features 12 specially-commissioned tents capturing the ideas and issues relevant to a range of Oxford organisations and community groups, including the African Caribbean Kultural Heritage Initiative (ACKHI), Refugee Resource and the Blackbird Leys Community Development Initiative.
Professional artists, working with the groups, have created the tent panels from a variety of materials including textiles, netting and found objects.
Each tent explores a theme, such as freedom, wellbeing and home.
The refuge tent, hosted by Refugee Resource, has been created by refugees and asylum seekers and those in the wider community and, along with other tents, will also host activities and performances.
In-Tent-City is free and will take place at South Park, Oxford, from 12-4pm. For more details go to www.in-tent-city.com
