Why is it that whenever strike action is mentioned, the poor old employee is always portrayed as the villain?

Both the page two article and the comment column (Oxford Mail, September 15) put the blame squarely at the feet of the postal workers.

The posties do not want to take industrial action, but sometimes there is no alternative as management refuses to negotiate.

Industrial action is always a last resort, usually after months of trying to find a solution.

Oxford Bus Company recently blamed wage rises on the recent fare increases yet, at the same time, its parent company, Go Ahead, announced record profits.

It is easy for management always to blame the employees, particularly as the media nearly always takes its side. Stop bashing the underdog!
