THE leader of Witney Town Council is facing a vote of no confidence after a motion was proposed to have him ejected.
Dean Temple, who was elected council leader in May, will face the vote at a full council meeting next month after fellow councillor Jane Doughty tabled the motion on Wednesday.
Ms Doughty, who is also a West Oxfordshire district councillor for Witney South, was seconded by deputy mayor Howard Chirgwin.
It is understood that Mr Temple will face the motion at a full council meeting on Monday, November 5, although this is not confirmed and an estates management committee meeting is currently scheduled for that date.
He was first elected to the council in May 2015 and represents Witney North.
As well as being council leader, Mr Temple is chair of the policy and resources committee and the personnel sub-committee.
He also serves on the committees for planning and development, estates management, sports and recreation and community services, and the First World War and skateboard and BMX track sub-committees.
Ms Doughty and Mr Temple were both approached for comment.
Evening meetings are held in the council chamber at Witney Town Hall and are open to the public.
