A MAN accused of raping a teenager asked for a threesome with his friend just minutes after the alleged attack, a court heard.

As the trial of Tom Clipsham, who denies one count of rape, continued at Oxford Crown Court yesterday, the 30-year old’s friend Jack Smith, took to the witness box.

Mr Smith stayed at Clipsham’s former Barwell property on March 5 last year after a night out in Wantage and was with a friend of the alleged victim when Clipsham, he said, came into the room wearing nothing but a pillow.

He said: “From what I can remember he had a pillow in his waist region. No T-shirt, nothing but a pillow.

“He asked for a threesome. I said ‘no mate’, and he said ‘come on’. [I replied] no again, and he walked away.”

Just minutes earlier the alleged victim had been pinned to a bed and raped in a nearby room, prosecutors allege, before leaving.

The court went on to hear that the next day Clipsham sent his friend Mr Smith a text message which read simply ‘pussy’.

During cross examination defence barrister Adrian Amer put to Mr Smith that the request for a threesome had in fact been a joke and a case of Clipsham being a ‘silly lad’, an assertion which Mr Smith accepted.

Earlier in the hearing yesterday the court heard from another witness - a supervisor from the alleged victim’s workplace.

From the witness box she told the court that on the Monday after the alleged incident she found the woman - aged 18 at the time, crying in a disabled toilet and was ‘a mess’.

She added that she was so distressed she was repeatedly pulling at her clothes and refused to let her supervisor touch her.

Clipsham denies rape and the trial continues.
