A MAN has undergone surgery after being stabbed.
Essex Police have launched an appeal for information after the incident outside Ladbrokes, on Timberlog Lane, Basildon, at 9.30pm on Saturday night.
The victim, a man in his 40s, is still in a serious condition after undergoing surgery.
Police have stated the motive is unclear, but the victim was attacked by just one person.
Detective Sergeant Christopher Arnold said: “The victim had two stab wounds and he has been in surgery today.
“The attack is believed to have been targeted and happened outside Ladbrokes on Timberlog Lane, Basildon.
“The motive is currently unclear and we are carrying out numerous enquiries.
“This happened on a busy road near a popular parade of shops and we think there may be others who saw what happened. It may also be possible that people have dash cam which captured the incident or the moments before or after.”
“We believe the victim was attacked by one person.”
