Sir - I know we are all quick to comment when roadworks inconvenience us. However, I would like to say that as both Master, and a resident of Magdalen College School, I have found the major works on The Plain to have been very well organised. I have been particularly pleased by the way that the workmen and the county council officials have all been so constructive and communicative when we as a school have raised questions or faced any difficulties with the work.
Through your paper, I would like to record the school's gratitude for the smooth running and efficiency of these works. They have been hugely intrusive - inevitably - but it is clear they will lead to real improvements. And it looks as if they are ahead of schedule too . . .
