DARRELL Clarke has demanded more from his Bristol Rovers side as they host Oxford United at the start of a crunch double header at the Memorial Stadium.

The Gas, 21st in Sky Bet League One, meet a U’s side 23rd in the table, before 20th-placed AFC Wimbledon visit on Tuesday.

Rovers have not scored in the last four league games and Clarke knows they need to stop the rot fast.

He said: “We need to improve quickly and certainly it’s a big week with a couple of home games on the spin.

“We’re the fourth worst team in League One at the minute and we’re underachieving for the first time in three years.

“With that you’ve got to take the flak, that goes with the territory, but I’m man enough to take it.”

Rovers will keep United guessing when it comes to their system, with three different formations used in the last three games.

U’s boss Karl Robinson said: “He (Clarke) will definitely change his formation.

“You very rarely get a formation plan that you can really work against.

“We will not plan for the formation, we’ll look to change certain aspects of our game and won’t be as predictable as maybe some people will think.

“We’ll worry about ourselves.”
